World Health Day this year falls on the 7th of April 2022, with the World Health Organisation this year focusing global attention on urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy and foster a movement to create societies focused on well-being.  At Revive Nutrition we look to change peoples perception of healthy eating with our range of meal prep lifehacks.

Everybody has their own part to play in this regard and at Revive Nutrition, we are no different! Through our operation, we look to tackle the systems that produce highly processed, unhealthy foods and beverages which are driving a wave of obesity, increasing cancer and heart disease while generating a third of global greenhouse gas emissions. We aim to change this, by providing locally sourced, high quality, healthy food which drastically lessens both our co2 footprint on the planet whilst improving the health and lifestyles of our valued customers through our meal prep lifehacks.

Squeezing in those 5 fruits and veg a day

There’s endless evidence available proving how vital eating fresh fruit & veg is to leading a healthy lifestyle. With significant health benefits to eating at least 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day. Eating your 5 a day drastically reduces the possibility of developing health conditions such as heart disease, stroke, and some types of cancer later in life.

Here are just a few health benefits of getting your 5 a day!

  • Fruit and vegetables are a good source of vitamins and minerals, including folate, vitamin C and potassium.
  • They’re an excellent source of dietary fibre, which can help to maintain a healthy gut and prevent constipation and other digestion problems. A diet high in fibre can also reduce your risk of bowel cancer.
  • They can help to reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, and some types of cancer.
  • Fruit and vegetables contribute to a healthy, balanced diet.
  • Fruit and vegetables taste delicious and there’s so much variety to choose from.
  • Fruit and vegetables are also usually low in fat and calories (provided you don’t fry them or roast them in lots of oil). That’s why eating them can help you maintain a healthy weight and keep your heart healthy.

At Revive Nutrition, all of our meals include a diverse selection of fresh, seasonal vegetables, with the majority of our meals including upwards of 3 portions of your recommended 5 a day! Providing an easy and tasty way for you to meet your goals through our meal prep lifehacks.

Portions are important

Learning to understand what constitutes a portion is important! With many of us simply overdoing it, particularly at dinner time. At Revive Nutrition, we offer precisely weighed meals with a rough ratio of 1/2 plate of vegetables, 1/4th carbs and 1/4th lean protein. With two sizes of meals available, medium, and large, choose which you like to suit your appetite and desired calorie intake.

Allowing you the freedom to fix meal timings

It’s essential to eat on a regular basis, due to the fact our bodies are programmed to sense a lack of food as starvation. When we skip meals, our calorie burn rate slows down, which means fewer calories are burned over time. When you don’t eat regular meals, your burn rate will often slow down making it more difficult to lose weight. We recommend eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner at regular intervals and by no later than 9pm. Snacking regularly throughout the day, regularly between meals will keep full. In order to maintain a healthy diet, we suggest you snack on items such as fruits & nuts.

It can be challenging to eat a healthy and convenient meal alongside a busy schedule at work and in your personal life, and that’s where our meal prep lifehacks really come into their own, as in just 3 minutes you can have a healthy, delicious, and nutritious meal, ready to eat!

Exercise daily

Exercise helps people maintain a healthy weight and lower their risk of certain diseases. Exercising regularly can help prevent weight gain, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Whilst bone-strengthening exercise — like jumping, running, or lifting weights — helps keep bones strong!

It can be often hard to include regular exercise in a busy schedule, finding the time to hit the gym alongside work and cooking a healthy meal for the family at the end of the day is certainly challenging! That’s where Revive comes in! Healthy, fresh, & nutritious meals direct to your door, reducing any adding cooking or cleaning jobs at the end of a busy day!
